All About Let’s Gather Illawarra

Our Story So far

Let’s Gather is a unique and organic ministry that began in 2015 from a desire to see women collect together and provide an open space to support and encourage one another. We used what was in our hands to build this into a place that cultivates and champions women, where they are valued and loved for who they are, and strengthened in their identity and purpose. Let’s Gather is inspired by the love of Jesus and how He gives us the truth about who we are. From this unique fiefdom, Let’s Pray and Let’s Care began.

So what is Let’s Gather, Let’s Care and Let’s Pray?

Let’s Gather

Let’s Gather is a women’s afternoon tea that meets in the Illawarra area in the homes of our team. It is usually held every third Saturday of the month and we send invites through Facebook. Women from all walks of life and ages are welcome and are able to invite friends to connect with us. We provide a heart centred space for conversations and sharing each other’s journeys. We are a safe resource for women to be informed and discuss real topics that affect their world, women’s health and welfare and issues impacting women locally and globally. Guest speakers are invited to come and share knowledge and experiences to inspire, inform and ignite us to a response. You always leave better than you arrived as you will be blessed by how we celebrate and equip women. Let us share the love, fellowship and warmth of Let’s Gather with you.

Let’s Care

Let’s Care is a charity based group that supports women in a variety of needs within our local community. This was started out with the goal of informing, equipping and mobilizing women to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their local area. We are impassioned with concern and care as we value the worth of women, see that it is our responsibility to help and be the solution to the injustices that face an ever increasing amount of us. We are always looking for ways to support all women, including those suffering from domestic abuse situations, the homeless, the refugees and mothers and young women in need. So far, Let’s Care has bundled over one hundred care packs that have been delivered with love. Let us make a difference and stop for the one.

Let’s Pray

Let’s Pray is a group of faith based women who respond to need through prayer. We believe prayer to be a powerful weapon as we come before our Good Father God asking for others what is on His heart to provide. Let’s Pray is united in heart and spirit. We are stirred to pray for unjust situations to turn around, provision to come and for the love of Jesus to reach out and touch lives. Women can contact us to pray confidentially, although we are not a counselling service so we can not provide advice in all situations. Let us stand in the gap for you as God’s Holy Spirit guides us how to pray.

Connecting with women and building relationships
Caring for, honouring and valuing as precious the voice of women in all their beauty
Empowering and strengthening women through collecting together
Equipping women to serve in our community so to be a part of the solution through acts of kindness
Raising awareness of the needs of women in our local and global community
Praying for God to fulfill His purposes for women in their many different situations and needs

Our vision and future outlook

At Let’s Gather we envision connecting to more women of all walks of life and ages in our local community and beyond to provide what we have to offer. We will be hoping to open more homes for women to meet in, including local restaurants and community places. We will continue to seek ways we can help through our Let’s Care packages and create innovative and useful ideas to reach out to women in need. We will look at expanding this part of Let’s Gather through future donations and support of local businesses and suppliers. We will continue to make connections to support services and charities in our area for women and build relationships to gain insight on how to further contribute to what they are providing. Let us continue to have a heart to share the practical love of God.
